Standing at Arafat and Muzdalifah and Departing from Them – On the Time for Pilgrims to Depart from Muzdalifah to Mina
Hadith 3860
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : " كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لا يُفِيضُونَ حَتَّى يَرَوَا الشَّمْسَ عَلَى ثَبِيرٍ ، فَخَالَفَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَفَعَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the days of ignorance, people would not set out until they saw the sun on (the mountain called) Thubayr. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did contrary to them and set out before the sun had risen.
