Standing at Arafat and Muzdalifah and Departing from Them – On the Invalidity of Departing from Mina Without Standing at Arafat
Hadith 3856
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَتْ قُرَيْشُ قُطَّانَ الْبَيْتِ ، وَكَانُوا يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ مِنًى ، وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ أَفِيضُوا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ النَّاسُ سورة البقرة آية 199 " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Quraysh were the custodians of the House of Allah; they used to depart from Mina, while other people would depart from Arafat. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "You should also return from where the people return."
