Sa’i between Safa and Marwah - What the pilgrim says on Safa and Marwah when ascending them
Hadith 3842
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ بِمَنْبِجَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا وَقَفَ عَلَى الصَّفَا يُكَبِّرُ ثَلاثًا ، وَيَقُولُ : " لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمَلِكُ ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ " يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَيَدْعُو ، وَيَصْنَعُ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from his father (Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, may Allah have mercy on him) the statement of Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with them both: When the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, stood on Safa, he recited the takbir three times and said: "There is no deity except Allah, He is the One, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him alone, praise is for Him alone, and He has power over all things." The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said this three times: then he supplicated. Then he did the same on Marwah.
