Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: We set out with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and our intention was only to perform Hajj. When we reached the place of Sarif, I began menstruating. The Prophet (peace be upon him) came to me and I was crying. He asked: What has happened to you, have you started menstruating? I replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: This is a thing which Allah has ordained for the daughters of Adam. You should do all the rituals that a pilgrim does, except that you should not perform the Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah). Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace be upon him) sacrificed a cow on behalf of his wives.

Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I came to Makkah while I was menstruating. I did not perform the Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah) nor the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. I complained about this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Do all the acts that a pilgrim does, except do not perform the Tawaf of the House until you become pure.
