Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Tawaf on his she-camel Qaswa. He touched the Black Stone with his staff. He did not find any place in the mosque to make the camel sit, until it was taken to the lower part of the valley and made to sit there. Then he praised and glorified Allah Almighty and said: "To proceed! O people, indeed Allah Almighty has removed the evils of the Age of Ignorance from you. O people! People are of two kinds: one who is righteous and honorable in the sight of his Lord, and the other who is sinful, wretched, and insignificant in the sight of his Lord." Then he recited this verse: "O people! Indeed, We have created you from male and female, and We have made you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the entire verse, then said: "I say this, and I seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty for myself and for you."
