Entering Mecca - Recommendation to kiss the Black Stone during tawaf
Hadith 3821
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : قَبَّلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ الْحَجَرَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ ، وَلَوْلا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُكَ مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ " .
Salim bin Abdullah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both): Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, kissed the Black Stone and said: By Allah! I know that you are a stone; if I had not seen the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you.
