Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna Safwan bin Ya’la (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) while you were at the place of Ji’ranah. That man was wearing a cloak and there was fragrance applied on that cloak (the narrator is doubtful whether these are the words) and there was a yellow mark on it. He asked: What do you instruct me? What should I do in my ‘Umrah? The narrator states: Revelation began to descend upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He was covered with a cloth. Sayyiduna Ya’la states: I wished that I could see the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the state when revelation was descending upon him. He narrates: Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) lifted the edge of the cloth and I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and he was snoring. When this state ended, he said: Where is the person who was asking about ‘Umrah? Wash off the yellow mark from yourself (the narrator is doubtful whether these are the words), wash off the fragrance, and take off your cloak, and in your ‘Umrah do what you do in Hajj (i.e., wear the same type of Ihram).
