Miqat for Hajj - Command for those intending Hajj or Umrah to assume ihram from the designated miqat
Hadith 3759
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الطَّائِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَنْ يُهِلُّوا مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةَ ، وَأَهْلَ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ ، وَأَهْلَ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ " ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : أَمَّا هَؤُلاءِ فَسَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . وَأُخْبِرْتُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلَ الْيَمَنِ مَنْ يلَمْلَمَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Messenger of Allah commanded the people of Madinah to assume Ihram from Dhu’l-Hulayfah, the people of Sham from Juhfah, and the people of Najd from Qarn. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: These are the places about which I heard from the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I have been informed that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Yemen will assume Ihram from Yalamlam.
