Virtues of Medina - The Prophet (peace be upon him) made ablution for prayer after praying for the people of Medina

Hadith 3746
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) until we reached the rocky plain at the place of "Suqya." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Bring me water for ablution. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution, he stood up, faced the Qiblah, then said the Takbir, then made this supplication: "O Allah! Indeed, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was Your servant and Your close friend. He prayed to You for blessings for the people of Makkah. I, Muhammad, am Your servant and Your Messenger. I pray to You for the people of Madinah that You place blessings in their mudd and their sa’ just as You placed blessings for the people of Makkah, and along with that blessing, add two more blessings."
