Virtues of Medina - The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked Allah to double the blessings in Medina
Hadith 3743
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مُدِّنَا وَصَاعِنَا ، وَاجْعَلْ مَعَ الْبَرَكَةِ بَرَكَتَيْنِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ اسْمُهُ : بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ اسْمُهُ : كَيْسَانُ مَوْلَى بَنِي لَيْثٍ : ثِقَتَانِ مَأْمُونَانِ رَوَيَا جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Allah! Place blessing for us in our mudd and our sa’ and, along with this blessing, add two more blessings." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): Abu Sa'id Mawla Mahri was from Egypt. His name is Bakr bin Amr, while Abu Sa'id Maqburi was from the people of Madinah. His name is Kaysan; he was a freed slave of Banu Laith. Both narrators are trustworthy and reliable. Both of these individuals have narrated traditions from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him).
