Hadith 3736
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will soon come when people will melt the livers of camels in pursuit of knowledge (i.e., they will undertake extremely long journeys), but they will not find any scholar greater than the scholar of Madinah." The narrator named Abu Musa states: I have come to know that Ibn Jurayj used to say: We think that by this is meant Sayyiduna Imam Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). I mentioned this to Sufyan, so he said: A scholar is the one who fears Allah, and we do not know of anyone who fears Allah more than 'Umari; by this he meant Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
