Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, faith will return to Madinah just as a snake returns to its hole." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): The statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) "faith will gather towards Madinah" refers to the people of faith. The reason for this is: Madinah is a dry region where there is much barren land and sand dunes; Allah Almighty has not placed those things here which are pleasing and delightful to the eyes and soul. Whoever intends to seek Allah Almighty and the home of the Hereafter, for him Allah Almighty has placed sustenance here. Therefore, only that person can be inclined towards Madinah who is detached from this perishing and vanishing world, and only that person can be desirous of it who is completely focused on the everlasting Hereafter.
