Virtues of Mecca - Ibn Khatal was killed that day by the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) command
Hadith 3721
أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَلَبِيُّ بِدِمَشْقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ ، وَعَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمِغْفَرُ ، وَإِنَّهُمْ ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ابْنُ خَطَلٍ مُتَعَلَّقٌ بِأَسْتَارِ الْكَعْبَةِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : " اقْتُلُوهُ " ، فَقُتِلَ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah with a helmet on his blessed head. The people said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Ibn Khatal is hiding in the curtains of the Ka'bah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Kill him. So he was killed.
