Hadith 3717
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، ثُمّ قَالَ : مَا كَتَبْنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلا الْقُرْآنَ ، وَمَا فِي هَذِهِ الصَّحِيفَةِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمَدِينَةُ حَرَامٌ مَا بَيْنَ عِيرٍ إِلَى ثَوْرٍ ، فَمَنْ أَحْدَثَ حَدَثًا فِيهَا ، أَوْ آوَى مُحْدِثًا فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمَلائِكَةِ ، وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ، لا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ صَرْفٌ وَلا عَدْلٌ ، ذِمَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَاحِدَةٌ يَسْعَى بِهَا أَدْنَاهُمْ فَمَنْ أَخْفَرَ مُسْلِمًا ، فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمَلائِكَةِ ، وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ، لا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ صَرْفٌ وَلا عَدْلٌ ، وَمَنْ وَالَى قَوْمًا بِغَيْرِ إِذَنِ مَوَالِيهِ ، فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمَلائِكَةِ ، وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We used to record only the Qur'an from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), or those rulings which were in the written documents. He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Medina is a sanctuary from 'Ayr to Thawr. Whoever introduces an innovation in it or gives refuge to an innovator, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. None of his obligatory or voluntary acts of worship will be accepted. The protection given by the Muslims is equal; even their common man will strive to fulfill it. Whoever disgraces a Muslim, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. None of his obligatory or voluntary acts of worship will be accepted. And whoever attributes himself to someone other than his master, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people."
