Virtues of Hajj and Umrah - Raising ranks, recording good deeds, and erasing sins with each step around the Kaaba
Hadith 3697
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ أُسْبُوعًا لا يَضَعُ قَدَمًا ، وَلا يَرْفَعُ أُخْرَى ، إِلا حَطَّ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً ، وَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهَا حَسَنَةً ، وَرَفَعَ لَهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever performs seven circuits (tawaf) of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah), for every step he takes and every step he lifts, Allah Almighty, because of it, forgives his sin, records a good deed for him, and raises his rank because of it."
