I’tikaf and Laylat al-Qadr - Allah forgives past sins for those who stand in prayer on Laylat al-Qadr with faith and hope
Hadith 3682
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَصَامَهُ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ ، وَمَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever, with faith and seeking reward, performs voluntary prayers and fasts during Ramadan, his past sins are forgiven; and whoever, with faith and seeking reward, performs voluntary prayers during the Night of Qadr, his past sins are forgiven."
