Abu Salamah narrates: We were discussing the Night of Qadr when I went to the service of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him). I asked: Did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mention anything about the Night of Qadr? He replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed i'tikaf in the middle ten days of the month of Ramadan. We also observed i'tikaf with him. When the morning of the twentieth night came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prepared to return, and we also prepared with him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up; he had seen the Night of Qadr in a dream, but then it was made to be forgotten by him.
