I’tikaf and Laylat al-Qadr - The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) regular practice of i’tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan
Hadith 3665
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلُوَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، وَابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنِ الزُهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، وَعَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ " .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan, until Allah the Exalted took (his blessed soul).
