Section on Fasting the Day of Arafah - Permitting breaking the fast on Arafah at Arafat to be stronger for supplication
Hadith 3605
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الُوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِرُمَّانٍ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ ، فَأَكَلَ " . قَالَ : قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُتِيَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ بِلَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: On the day of Arafah, pomegranate was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ate it. The narrator states: Sayyidah Umm Fadl (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that on the day of Arafah, milk was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he drank it.
