Hadith 3560
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ تَسْنِيمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ الأَسْلَمِيَّ ، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَنْتَ بِالْخِيَارِ ، إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyiduna Hamza Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting during travel: So he said: You have a choice, if you wish, then fast, and if you wish, then do not fast.
