Chapter on Fasting While Traveling - No blame on the fasting traveler if he is as strong as the one who breaks the fast
Hadith 3558
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نَغْزُو مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَمِنَّا الصَّائِمُ وَمِنَّا الْمُفْطِرُ ، فَلا يَجِدُ الصَّائِمُ عَلَى الْمُفْطِرِ ، وَلا الْمُفْطِرُ عَلَى الصَّائِمِ ، يَرَوْنَ أَنَّ مَنَ وَجَدَ قُوَّةً ، فَصَامَ فَهُوَ حَسَنٌ ، وَمَنْ وَجَدَ ضَعْفًا فَأفْطَرَ ، فَهُوَ حَسَنٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We went with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to participate in a battle during the month of Ramadan. Some of us were fasting and some of us were not fasting. The fasting person did not object to the one who was not fasting, and the one who was not fasting did not object to the fasting person. They understood that if a person had the strength and he fasted, then that was better, and if a person was weak and he did not fast, then that was better.
