Hadith 3525
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ وَقَعَ بِامْرَأَتِهِ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ تَجِدُ رَقَبَةً ؟ " قَالَ : لا ، قَالَ : " هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ صِيَامَ شَهْرَيْنِ ؟ " ، قَالَ : لا ، قَالَ : " تُطْعِمُ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ؟ " ، قَالَ : لا أَجِدُ ، فَأَعْطَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَمْرًا ، وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ بِهِ ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَاجَتَهُ ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَأْخُذَهُ هُوَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He informed you that he had intercourse with his wife during the fast. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Do you have a slave? He replied: No. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Can you fast for two consecutive months? He replied: No. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Can you feed sixty needy people? He replied: I do not have the means for that either. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him dates and instructed him to give them as charity. The narrator says: He mentioned his own neediness before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to take them for himself.
