Chapter on Making Up Missed Fasts - Permitting the fasting person who eats or drinks forgetfully to complete the fast without blame
Hadith 3522
أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْقُرَشِيُّ ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الُوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، وَهِشَامٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَقَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي كُنْتُ صَائِمًا ، فَأَكَلْتُ وَشَرِبْتُ نَاسِيًا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَطْعَمَكَ اللَّهُ وَسَقَاكَ ، أَتِمَّ صَوْمَكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: A man asked the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: He said, "O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! I was fasting and then I ate and drank out of forgetfulness." So the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah Almighty has fed you and given you drink; complete your fast."
