Chapter on Breaking the Fast and Hastening It - Stating that when the sun sets, breaking the fast is allowed
Hadith 3513
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَقْبَلَ اللَّيْلُ ، وَأَدْبَرَ النَّهَارُ ، وَغَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَدْ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When night comes and the day departs and the sun sets, then the fasting person should break his fast."
