Chapter on Fasting While Junub - Permissibility of fasting if one wakes up junub
Hadith 3493
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا عَنْ طَرُوقَةٍ ، ثُمَّ يَصُومُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا هُوَ ابْنُ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ أَبُو طُوَالَةَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the state of major ritual impurity (janabah) due to marital relations and would reach the time of true dawn (subh sadiq) in that state, then he would fast. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): The narrator named Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman is Ma'mar bin Hazm Abu Tawalah, who belongs to the people of Madinah and is trustworthy.
