Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes spend the night in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), then Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) would come to call him for the Fajr prayer, so he would get up and perform ghusl (ritual bath), and I would see water dripping from his hair, but he would still fast that day. The narrator named Mutarrif says: I asked Imam Sha’bi: Did this happen in the month of Ramadan? He replied: In this matter, the month of Ramadan and other months have the same status.
