Hadith 3488
Abu Bakr bin Abdur Rahman narrates: He went to Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and informed her that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) gives us the fatwa that the fast of a person who is in a state of major impurity (janabah) at the time of true dawn (subh sadiq) is not valid. What do you say about this? Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) used to come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to call him for prayer, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would be in a state of janabah at that time. Then he would get up and perform ghusl, and I would see the water flowing between his shoulders, yet he would still observe the fast.
