Hadith 3486
Abdul Malik bin Abu Bakr narrates from his father. He heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: Whoever is in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) at the time of true dawn should not fast. (The narrator says:) (The narrator named Abu Bakr and his father went and presented themselves before Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) (and inquired about this matter), so both of them stated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes be in a state of major ritual impurity at the time of true dawn, but he would still fast. Then the narrator named Abu Bakr and his father went to Marwan and narrated this hadith to him, so he said: I urge both of you that when you go to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), inform him of this as well. Then both of them went to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him of this, so he said: Those women have more knowledge. Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) had informed me about this matter.
