Chapter on the Virtue of Ramadan - Allah records those who fast and pray Ramadan, and establish prayer and zakah, among the truthful and martyrs
Hadith 3438
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحِيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مُرَّةَ الْجُهَنِيَّ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ شَهِدْتُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، وَأَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، وَصَلَّيْتُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ ، وَأَدَّيْتُ الزَّكَاةَ ، وَصُمْتُ رَمَضَانَ ، وَقُمْتُهُ ، فَمِمَّنْ أَنَا ؟ قَالَ : " مِنَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Murrah al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! What is your opinion, if I testify that there is no deity except Allah, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are the Messenger of Allah, I perform the five prayers, I pay zakat, I fast in Ramadan, and I also offer voluntary prayers in Ramadan, then among which people will I be counted? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Among the truthful (Siddiqeen) and the martyrs (Shuhada).
