Chapter on the Virtue of Ramadan - Recommending striving in the last ten nights following the example of the Prophet
Hadith 3437
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفِيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ ، أَحِيَا اللَّيْلَ ، وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ ، وَأَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the last ten days of Ramadan would come, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would spend the night in worship, he (peace be upon him) would gird himself with determination, and he would also wake up his wives.
