Chapter on the Virtue of Ramadan - Recommending striving in worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan
Hadith 3436
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفِيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ الأَوَاخِرُ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ أَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ ، وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ ، وَأَحِيَا اللَّيْلَ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the last ten days of Ramadan would arrive, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would wake his wives as well, and he (peace be upon him) would gird himself with determination and spend the entire night in worship.
