Chapter on the Virtue of Ramadan - Allah’s grace in forgiving past sins for those who fast Ramadan and observe its limits
Hadith 3433
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ يَحِيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُرْطٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ، وَعَرَفَ حُدُودَهُ ، وَتَحَفَّظَ مَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَتَحَفَّظَ ، كَفَّرَ مَا قَبْلَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts in Ramadan, safeguards its limits, and protects what should be protected, then his past sins are forgiven."
