Chapter on the Virtue of Fasting - Mentioning the hope of answered prayer for the fasting person at iftar
Hadith 3428
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا فَرَحُ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ الْمَنْبِجِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُدِلَّةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ثَلاثَةٌ لا تُرَدُّ دَعُوَتُهُمُ : الصَّائِمُ حَتَّى يُفْطِرَ ، وَالإِمَامُ الْعَادِلُ ، وَدَعُوَةُ الْمَظْلُومِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو الْمُدِلَّةِ : اسْمُهُ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، مَدَنِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The supplication of three people is not rejected: the fasting person until he breaks his fast, the just ruler, and the supplication of the oppressed." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): The narrator named Abu al-Mudillah is Ubaydullah bin Abdullah; he was a resident of Madinah and is trustworthy.
