Chapter: Virtue of Fasting – Clarifying That the Breath of the Fasting Person is More Fragrant to Allah Than Musk
Hadith 3422
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلا الصِّيَامَ ، وَالصِّيَامُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطِيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting; it is different, it is for Me and I will reward it. The smell from the mouth of a fasting person is purer to Allah than the fragrance of musk."
