Hadith 3391
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحِيَى بْنُ السَّكَنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَأَلَ النَّاسَ لِيُثْرِيَ مَالَهُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ رَضْفٌ مِنَ النَّارِ يَتَلَهَّبُهُ ، مَنْ شَاءَ فَلِيُقِلَّ ، وَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلِيُكْثِرْ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever asks from people in order to increase his wealth, then he is collecting embers of Hell; now let him collect little or let him collect much, as he wishes."
