Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There are three people whom Allah loves and three people whom Allah dislikes. Allah loves the person who is among some people, and a beggar comes to them and asks them in the name of Allah, not because of any kinship with them, but those people show miserliness (and do not give him anything). Then one person among them leaves them and goes to a place where no one but Allah sees him, and that person gives something to the beggar. The second is the person who is on an expedition, and the people scatter, so he says takbeer and plunges into the fight until Allah grants him victory or he is martyred. The third is the person who is traveling at night with some people, and when the night becomes deep, they camp at a place, and at that time sleep is dearest to them, so they sleep, and that person stands up and recites verses and supplicates in My presence. And Allah does not like an old adulterer, a miser, or an arrogant person." The narrator also mentioned the third person."
