Voluntary Charity – Description of the Giver at Death if He Was Negligent in Life
Hadith 3336
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مِرْدَاسٍ ، بِالأُبُلَّةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَتَصَدَّقُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُهْدِي بَعْدَمَا يَشْبَعُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "The example of the person who gives charity when death approaches him is like the one who gives something after he himself is satisfied."
