Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates regarding the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the women: “Give charity, for the majority of the inhabitants of Hell are from among you.” A woman who was not from a prominent family asked: “What is the reason for this?” (The narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words:) “Why?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You frequently curse and are ungrateful to your husbands.” Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: “Women, despite being deficient in intellect and religion, often prevail over sensible men in matters.” It was asked: “What is the deficiency in their intellect and religion?” He replied: “As for their intellect, it is that the testimony of two women is equal to that of one man. As for the deficiency in their religion, it is that there are days in which a woman cannot perform even a single prayer.”
