Voluntary Charity – Ordering Women to Give Abundant Charity
Hadith 3322
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، بِبُسْتٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الُوَلِيدِ الْبُسْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : أَشْهَدُ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ شَهِدَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ ، فَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ " .
Ata reports: I testify regarding Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he testified regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as follows: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first performed the Eid prayer on the day of Eid, then he delivered the sermon, then he went to the women and instructed them to give charity and alms.
