Voluntary Charity – On Allah Multiplying the Reward of a Muslim’s Charity
Hadith 3318
أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَتَصَدَّقُ بِالتَّمْرَةِ إِذَا كَانَتْ مِنْ طَيِّبٍ ، وَلا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ إِلا الطَّيِّبَ ، فَيَجْعَلُهَا اللَّهُ فِي كَفَّهِ ، فَيُرَبِّيهَا كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فَلُوَّهُ ، أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ حَتَّى تَكُونَ فِي يَدِهِ جَلَّ وَعَلا مِثْلَ جَبَلٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you gives charity from pure earnings—even if it is a single date—Allah Almighty accepts only pure earnings. Allah Almighty takes it in His Hand of Power and begins to nurture it, just as one of you raises his young animal, until in the Hand of Allah Almighty, it (the single date) becomes like a mountain."
