Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the spender and the miser is like two men who are wearing armor from their necks to their chests. When the spender intends to spend, his armor loosens and becomes spacious, until (it becomes so loose that it falls down) and reaches his feet and covers the marks of his feet. As for the miser, when he intends to spend, every ring of his armor remains firmly in its place and becomes tight, and he tries to loosen it, but it does not become loose; he tries to loosen it, but it does not become loose."
