Chapter: Virtue of Zakat – On the Great Reward for Giving Charity from One’s Livestock
Hadith 3249
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الُوَلِيدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْهِجْرَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " وَيْحَكَ ، إِنَّ شَأْنَ الْهِجْرَةِ شَدِيدٌ ، فَهَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَهَلْ تُؤَدِّي صَدَقَتَهَا ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَاعْمَلْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْبِحَارِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَنْ يَتِرَكَ مِنْ عَمَلِكَ شَيْئًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A Bedouin asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about migration. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Woe to you, the matter of migration is very severe. Do you have camels? He replied: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Do you give their zakat? He replied: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Even if you perform deeds across the seas, Allah Almighty will not leave out anything from your deeds (i.e., He will reward you for everything).
