Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us in a sermon and said: What I fear most for you is that Allah the Exalted will reveal the adornment and beauty of the world to you. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will good bring evil?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. We sensed that revelation was being sent down to him. It was said to that man: "What is the reason that you made a request to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but he did not speak to you?" Then, when that state of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ended, he wiped the sweat from his face and asked: "Who is the questioner?" From this, we understood that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praised him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Good will not bring evil, but what grows in the spring sometimes kills and sometimes fattens. Have you not seen that the animal that eats green grass eats until its belly swells, then it goes out into the sun, defecates and urinates, and then walks away? Indeed, wealth is sweet and lush, and the best companion for a Muslim is that he maintains family ties and spends it in the way of Allah. And whoever acquires it unjustly, his example is like that of a person who eats but is never satisfied, and this (wealth) will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and while addressing the people in a sermon, he said: By Allah! O people! What I fear most for you is that Allah the Exalted will display the adornment and beauty of the world before you. A man asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Will goodness bring evil? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent for a while, then he asked: What did you say? That person replied: I asked, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Will goodness bring evil? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Indeed, goodness only brings goodness. But its example is like that of the spring season (which causes animals that overeat) to die or brings them close to destruction. However, the case of the animal that eats greenery is different; when its belly is full, it comes into the sunlight, then it urinates and defecates, then grazes and returns. So, whoever acquires wealth along with its due right, there is blessing placed in it for him, and whoever acquires wealth unjustly, his example is like that of a person who, despite eating, is never satisfied.
