Chapter on earning wealth lawfully and related matters – Permissibility for a man to gather wealth lawfully if he fulfills its rights
Hadith 3210
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا عَمْرُو ، نِعْمَ الْمَالُ الصَّالِحُ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ الصَّالِحِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : سَمِعَ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، وَسَمِعَهُ مِنْ أَبِي الْقَيْسِ بَدَلَ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، فَالطَّرِيقَانِ جَمِيعًا مَحْفُوظَانِ .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Amr! The best wealth is the righteous wealth that is in the possession of a righteous man." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Ali bin Rabah heard this narration from Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him), and he heard this narration from Abu Qais on the authority of Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him); both of these chains are preserved.
