Hadith 3168
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْقَطَّانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَكِيمُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ ثَلاثٍ : عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ ، وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الأَضَاحِي أَنْ تُمْسِكُوهَا فَوْقَ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، وَعَنِ الظُّرُوفِ إِلا مَا كَانَ فِي سِقَاءٍ ، وَقَدْ رُخِّصَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ أُمِّهِ ، وَإِنَّمَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ أَنْ تُمْسِكُوا لُحُومَ الأَضَاحِي فَوْقَ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، لِيُوَسِّعَ ذُو السَّعَةِ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ لَمْ يُضَحِّ ، وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنِ الظُّرُوفِ إِلا مَا كَانَ مِنْ سِقَاءٍ ، فَلا يُحِلُّ ظَرْفٌ شَيْئًا وَلا يُحَرِّمُهُ " .
Sulaiman bin Buraidah narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "I had forbidden you from three things: visiting graves, consuming sacrificial meat for more than three days, and using certain types of vessels except those used for drinking. Now, Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been permitted to visit his mother's grave. I had forbidden you from keeping sacrificial meat for more than three days, and the reason for this was so that those among you who have abundance may give meat to those who have not performed sacrifice. And I had forbidden you from using certain types of vessels except those used for drinking, but a vessel does not make anything lawful or unlawful."
