Hadith 3143
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعٌ فِي أُمَّتِي مِنْ أَهْوَاءِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لا يَتْرُكُونَهُنَّ : الْفَخْرُ فِي الأَحْسَابِ ، وَالطَّعْنُ فِي الأَنْسَابِ ، وَالاسْتِسْقَاءُ بِالنُّجُومِ ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ ، وَالنَّائِحَةُ إِذَا لَمْ تَتُبْ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهَا يُقَامُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَيْهَا سِرْبَالٌ مِنْ قَطِرَانٍ وَدِرْعٌ مِنْ جَرَبٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Malik Ash'ari رضي الله عنه narrates that the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "There are four things from the evils of the pre-Islamic era in my Ummah which they have not abandoned: boasting about lineage, slandering others' ancestry, seeking rain through the stars, and wailing. The woman who wails, if she does not repent before her death, will be raised on the Day of Resurrection wearing a garment of tar and a cloak of scabs."
