Section on the state of the dead in the grave – Another narration confirming the general statement that was misunderstood
Hadith 3135
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished because of the weeping of his family over him."
