Section on the state of the dead in the grave – The dead are shown their places in the Hereafter twice daily
Hadith 3130
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا مَاتَ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ مَقْعَدُهُ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ ، إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، فَمَنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، فَمَنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، يُقَالُ : هَذَا مَقْعَدُكَ حَتَّى يَبْعَثَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a person dies, his abode is presented before him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then the abode of the people of Paradise is presented to him, and if he is among the people of Hell, then the abode of the people of Hell is presented to him. And it is said to him: This is your abode; on the Day of Resurrection, Allah the Exalted will send you to it."
