Hadith 3075
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) offered a funeral prayer, so I memorized his supplication. He (peace be upon him) recited: "O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, make his abode good, expand his grave, wash him with water, hail, and snow, cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt, grant him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, a wife better than his wife, admit him into Paradise, protect him from Hellfire, and protect him from the punishment of the grave." (The narrator says:) Until I wished that I were that deceased. The narrator named Ibn Wahb has reported this. The same narration is also transmitted with another chain from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
