Hadith 3034
Wahb bin Munabbih narrates: This is the matter about which I asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both): so he narrated some ahadith. He mentioned that one day the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon, and he mentioned one of his companions who had passed away and was not given a large shroud, and was buried at night. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that anyone should be buried at night or that anyone's funeral prayer should be performed at night, except in case of necessity. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person becomes responsible for his brother's (shrouding and burial affairs), he should give him a good shroud.
